As a Public Sector Sales Strategist/Evangelist, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's growth within the United States public sector. This is a strategic, high-impact position where you will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to key government agencies and public sector organizations. You will be instrumental in influencing go-to-market strategies, driving large enterprise deals, and ensuring our solutions meet the unique and evolving needs of government clients

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your work will directly support the public institutions that keep our country running smoothly, from ensuring public works crews can safely maintain critical infrastructure to helping transit authorities provide reliable transportation and equipping emergency services with the tools they need to respond effectively.
  • You're curious about how our public institutions operate. One day you might be with a department of transportation discussing road maintenance, and the next you'll be learning how a city's public works team manages its fleet. You thrive on understanding the unique operational challenges of government agencies and are passionate about sharing innovative solutions that can address them.
  • You are a life-long learner: The public sector is vast and complex. You'll need to deeply understand the needs of each agency you engage with to effectively demonstrate how our technology can transform their operations. Your mission is to show these organizations a new path forward, not just sell a product.
  • You are a trusted partner and relationship builder. The public sector has historically relied on established processes and may be wary of new technology. You'll build genuine, long-term relationships based on trust and a shared commitment to public service, becoming a go-to resource for government leaders as they navigate the digital transformation of their agencies.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance Sales culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.

In this role, you will:

  • Cultivate and nurture trusted advisor relationships with a designated number of C-level executives and key stakeholders in public sector accounts on a quarterly basis.
  • Partner with sales teams to provide strategic technical guidance, directly influencing and helping to close complex, high-value enterprise deals.
  • Lead the development of technical strategy within key accounts, demonstrating a measurable impact on pipeline generation and revenue growth.
  • Translate customer requirements, challenges, and feedback into actionable insights to help shape our product roadmap.
  • Serve as a public-facing thought leader for the company by speaking at major industry events and publishing insightful content.
  • Develop and document repeatable frameworks, reference architectures, and playbooks that empower the broader field organization.
  • Mentor and guide sales engineers and solution architects to raise the overall technical proficiency and strategic acumen of the team.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts between sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure a cohesive and effective go-to-market strategy.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership role with a proven track record in the public sector space.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical audiences and C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing product direction based on customer engagement and market needs.
  • Deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and the unique challenges faced by government organizations.
