As a Junior Platform Engineer, you’ll support, maintain, and improve our Azure cloud environment, on-premises systems, and internal IT operations. Working closely with senior engineers and the Platform Manager, you’ll help deliver stable, secure, and efficient infrastructure that supports our internal teams and customers.
This role is ideal for someone early in their cloud or platform engineering journey, looking to gain hands-on experience with Azure, automation, and security best practices while being supported by experienced mentors.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing internal IT support (hardware, software, access, troubleshooting)
- Assisting with deploying and managing Azure resources (compute, storage, networking, identity)
- Monitoring infrastructure health, alerts, performance, and cost usage
- Supporting identity and access management across Azure AD and Microsoft 365
- Participating in vulnerability scanning, patching, remediation, and security uplift activities
- Assisting with incident response activities (triage, containment, investigation
- Helping maintain backups, configuration updates, and environment maintenance
- Supporting threat detection and alerting processes using Azure security tools
- Contributing to documentation, standards, and governance practices
- Collaborating with engineering and delivery teams to ensure reliable cloud and internal services
- Proactively upskilling on Azure, automation, security frameworks, and cloud operations

What you’ll need to succeed
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Ability to work autonomously
- Understanding of Azure concepts (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration & Windows Server environments
- Basic networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Exposure to vulnerability management, patching practices, or incident response fundamentals
- Awareness of IAM principles (least privilege, RBAC, Azure AD)
- Awareness of Azure security services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Security Centre)
- Basic understanding of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC, NIST or Essential Eight
- Some scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI)
- Excellent communication and a customer-focused mindset
- Willingness to obtain Azure Administrator Associate certification within 12 months
- A passion for technology, continuous learning, and developing into a cloud/platform engineer
