Join Shopify as a Staff Solutions Engineer, Enterprise, where you will play a crucial role in breaking down technical barriers for high-growth merchants. With your expertise in custom storefront development and ecommerce technologies, you'll consult with enterprise-level clients to optimize their omnichannel strategies, technology stacks, and business objectives. You will engage in pre-sales activities while also supporting existing large merchants in North America, facilitating complex deals and partnerships to drive growth on Shopify's platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with strategic and large merchants to address technical requirements throughout their Shopify journey.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineers and Architects to conduct requirements discovery, solution presentations, and workshops.
  • Assist merchants and their development partners in designing third-party applications or customized solutions extending Shopify’s platform.
  • Align with Product Management on Shopify’s enterprise roadmap, sharing feedback on features and merchant trends.
  • Serve as an expert on Shopify's platform, particularly in custom storefront development using Hydrogen.
  • Mentor and coach merchant-facing teams on technical aspects of Shopify’s platform.
  • Develop reusable assets illustrating best practices for upskilling merchant-facing teams.
  • Support enterprise sales and partner teams through high-level engagements and customized demos.
  • Advise enterprise merchants on technical solutions for long-term business success.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, advocating for enterprise merchants' needs.
  • Stay informed about North American retail trends and market dynamics affecting enterprise clients.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to uncover enterprise clients' business needs and technical requirements.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel as needed across North America for client meetings, industry events, and on-site support.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in ecommerce-related pre-sales solutions engineering, focusing on enterprise clients.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record in enterprise client and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to enterprise challenges.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise retail and omnichannel best practices, including large-scale migrations.
  • Proficiency with web APIs (GraphQL), enterprise retail solutions, and front-end development.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to support a diverse portfolio of enterprise merchants.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a growth mindset.
  • Understanding of cloud-based technologies, SaaS fundamentals, and their enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 companies and major retail brands.
  • Ability to leverage Shopify's Hydrogen and Oxygen frameworks, composable offerings, and developer documentation to drive client success.
