Samsara’s Safety business sits on one of the largest commercial-fleet datasets anywhere—multi-modal video + telematics enriched with road, environment, and behavioral context—and we apply advanced AI to understand driver behavior and crash risk at scale. As Senior PM for Insurance, you’ll turn that scale into new insurance products and unlocks, helping customers access better coverage and pricing while giving brokers and carriers the risk, claims, and underwriting signals they need to improve profitability and speed. You’ll connect our multi-modal data and AI to insurance workflows (risk prevention, faster claims, data-driven underwriting, theft/loss), and build the foundations that make those outcomes repeatable at ecosystem scale.

Commercial auto remains under profitability pressure, and insurers increasingly seek packaged, insurer-grade capabilities and data they can adopt quickly. With Samsara’s customer outcomes and device footprint, this role is positioned to translate safety impact into differentiated insurance value (e.g., faster FNOL/claims, dynamic pricing informed by telematics + claims, privacy-safe data sharing at scale) in partnership with leading brokers and carriers.

Our ambitions for this product are high, and we're excited to invite you to join us!

This position is open to candidates in the US and Canada.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for insurer/broker experiences and insurance-tier data services/APIs that translate safety outcomes into measurable insurance value across risk, claims, underwriting, theft/loss, and commercial outcomes.
  • Integrate deeply with insurer systems and programs, defining reference integrations and accelerators across policy, billing, and claims platforms used in P&C so partners can adopt Samsara capabilities with minimal bespoke work.
  • Shape packaged insurance workflows (e.g., risk insights, claims acceleration, underwriting data services) that insurers and brokers can operationalize quickly—whether embedded in partner programs or offered as insurer-grade modules.
  • Build relationships with carriers/brokers and customers at the forefront of physical operations to deeply understand their needs and inform our roadmap.
  • Define clear success metrics and drive cross-functional execution with Engineering, Design, Partnerships, Legal/Privacy, Sales, and Customer Success to scale adoption and impact.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural values (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5–7 years in Product Management with hands-on insurtech experience (commercial auto preferred) across one or more of: claims/FNOL, underwriting/pricing, risk engineering, or broker/carrier workflows.
  • Proven track record shipping data/platform products (APIs, dashboards, integrations) that drove measurable business results.
  • Familiarity with P&C core systems and integrations in policy, billing, and claims.
  • Strong product sense + technical depth across data models, evaluation, privacy, and partner interoperability.
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder management across insurers, brokers, customers, and internal teams.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Built or scaled telematics/video-based safety solutions or analytics used by fleets and insurers.
  • Shipped claims acceleration and risk/underwriting scoring products, ideally combining telematics with claims data.
  • Designed privacy-mitigated, bidirectional data-sharing programs between enterprises.
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS products and working with B2B sales teams.
