The Recruiter is responsible for partnering with corporate management and operations management teams to develop and/or adapt effective recruiting strategies and support the organizational staffing objectives while delivering suitable job candidates for vacant positions. This role will require strong organizational skills, diligence, and communication skills.
Job Description
- Collaborate with management to identify recruiting needs.
- Review and clarify job specifications, and skills required.
- Align job candidate profiles with recruiting needs.
- Source applicants through various methods including but not limited to advertising, job sites, career fairs, and online platforms.
- Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates.
- Take ownership of candidate experience by understanding and managing job postings, job descriptions, and position requirements.
- Review applications and qualifications to determine suitability of candidates including but not limited to conducting background checks, driving reports, previous employment verifications and/or credentials, as applicable.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Screen and inform candidates about the job and company to determine suitability.
- Establish an applicant pipeline and regularly update for immediate access and/or review of hiring managers.
- Manage effective communication with candidates throughout the interview and hiring process.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to managers.
- Manage applicant tracking system and maintain accurate candidate files.
- Keeps abreast of recruiting metrics (cost per hire etc.), relevant sourcing strategies and industry trends.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure a smooth hiring process.
- Perform reference checks as needed.
- Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adoption, and resilience to change and continuous improvement.
- Other tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred.
- 1+ year of recruiting experience required.
- High-Volume recruiting experience in a transportation and/or logistics company strongly preferred.
- Knowledge/Experience of utilizing an applicant tracking system and/or HRIS is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Need to be diligent, optimistic, strong-willed and results oriented.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of DOT qualification requirements or in a similar highly regulated industry.
- Comfortable making decisions independently.
- Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods.
- Good understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Must have stable and secure connection at home to be able to access required systems and contact potential applicants and complete reports.
- Must be flexible and adaptive to the ever-changing market and Lazer Logistics objectives and goals.
- Ability to collaborate and work well in a fast-paced/dynamic team environment.
