Product Designer - Australia

We’re looking for a talented Product Designer with a strong eye for user interface design to join our fast-growing team. This is an opportunity to help shape our design culture and practice from the ground up, working alongside exceptional product and engineering peers to create world-class digital experiences for people around the world.

You’ll design clear, thoughtful, and scalable interfaces that make complex problems simple. You’ll bring ideas to life through collaboration, testing, and iteration, always with the goal of building products that are a joy to use.

What you will do:

• Design and iterate on user interfaces for responsive web applications, ensuring exceptional usability and brand alignment. You will be working on a new product from 0 to 1, with mentorship from experienced Designers as required.
• Participate in discovery and make decisions based on customer insights. You will also test and refine designs to ensure usability and accessibility standards are met or exceeded.
• As we lay the foundation for our first design system, we’re looking for someone eager to shape its structure and direction.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure high-fidelity implementation of designs across native and responsive web platforms.

What we need:

• Demonstrable product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating UI design expertise.
• Strong grasp of layout, typography, colour, and visual hierarchy.
• Deep understanding of native iOS/Android and responsive web design principles and development frameworks.
• Hands-on experience using, maintaining, and scaling design systems for SaaS products including accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Figma mastery and a desire to remain curious and learning in a fast-evolving world of design, including evaluation with design team members opportunities to improve design quality and efficiency using AI tools.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers.

We’d also love to see:

• Previous experience in SaaS or fintech.
• Experience with iconography, motion design, and/or illustration for digital products.
• Experience working at high-growth technology companies.
• Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Exceptional visual design skills with attention to detail and craft.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, adept at running design experiments as part of decision-making.
