Join the dynamic Habit Burger team, part of Yum! Brands, in building industry-leading technology that enhances the experience of both restaurant staff and guests. As a Jr Data Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in developing and maintaining data systems that support our mobile app, website, restaurant operations, and integrations with third-party delivery services like DoorDash, Grubhub, and UberEats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects.
  • Participate in report development and system integrations.
  • Conduct database testing and debugging.
  • Engage in code reviews and documentation of database architecture and processes.
  • Implement and maintain database security protocols.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and quality.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance.
  • Manage multiple tasks including high-priority requests and ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Design, develop, and manage scalable and reliable data pipelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in database design, development, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in MSSQL (T-SQL, Stored Procedures) or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, and database design principles.
  • Understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Prior exposure to ETL processes and tools (experience with any ETL tool is a plus).
  • Comfortable working in IDEs such as Visual Studio and Snowflake.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (DOMO preferred; Power BI and Tableau desirable).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS 
  • Programming experience in Python 
  • Awareness of data privacy laws and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
