Internship, Database Administration

As the GTS Database Administrator Intern, you'll have the unique opportunity to partner with skilled and experienced Database Administrators and support a dynamic team across its primary functions. You’ll have the unique opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in the many elements that contribute to the daily operations of a multi-faceted enterprise and develop critical business competencies through various tasks. During this internship, you may assist with the following duties:

• Installation and Upgrades of Databases
• Security configuration of databases
• Run SQL Scripts to update data or change database schema
• Perform Capacity Planning
• Perform Analysis of Queries or Database Performance issues
• Create Dev/Test databases in non-production for Development teams
• Perform data masking of secure databases for use in non-production

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of SQL commands
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or IBM DB2
• Knowledge of Delphix for Virtual Databases
• Ability to analyze performance of SQL queries and optimize for improved performance
