We are seeking a talented AI Automation Engineer to join our internal tooling and automation team. This role will focus primarily on designing and deploying AI agents, MCP modules, and agent-to-agent communication frameworks that power the next generation of automation at Figma. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in applied AI, agent architectures, and building AI for enterprise/internal use cases, with additional experience in SaaS integrations (MuleSoft or equivalent).
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:

- Develop multi-agent communication and orchestration frameworks to enable collaboration and autonomous task execution
- Partner with Finance, HR, Sales, Engineering, and IT to identify and deliver high-impact opportunities for AI-powered automation
- Integrate and optimize enterprise systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Stripe, Snowflake, etc.) using APIs, data pipelines, and platforms like MuleSoft
- Ensure reliability, scalability, compliance, and performance through rigorous testing, debugging, and monitoring of AI systems and integrations
- Stay ahead of advancements in LLMs, orchestration frameworks, and AI platforms, applying them pragmatically to Figma’s ecosystem
- Collaborate cross-functionally and document architectures, workflows, and communication models for transparency and reusability
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience building and deploying AI agents, orchestration frameworks, or LLM-powered applications in production
- Deep understanding of agent architectures, multi-agent communication, and AI workflow automation
- Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and APIs (LangChain, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.)
- Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and SaaS integrations
- Experience with MuleSoft or other iPaaS platforms is a plus, but not required
- Prior experience designing AI for internal enterprise tools is highly desirable
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across cross-functional teams
