The HR Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department, ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes. This role assists with onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement activities, performance management, and general HR administration. The HR Assistant plays a key role in maintaining accurate employee records, supporting compliance processes, and contributing to a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and regularly update onboarding packets and associated documentation to ensure compliance with current company policies and employment laws
- Drive the onboarding process by managing new-hire communications, confirming necessary insurance/licensing requirements, and scheduling training(s) in partnership with hiring managers prior to the first day of employment to ensure a smooth transition
- Maintain and update employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Prepare and process termination paperwork while ensuring accuracy and timely completion and respond to unemployment claims
- Assist with compliance documents such as employee insurance requirements, licensing for new and existing employees, and annual projects such as MVR compliance
- Conduct new hire Check-Ins, stay interviews, and exit interviews while gathering feedback for organizational improvement in employee engagement and retention
- Assist with the performance review process, including scheduling, communication, and documentation support
- Maintain accurate and organized performance records
Requirements
- HR or administrative experience, preferably in onboarding, employee relations, or performance management support
- Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems for recordkeeping and reporting
- Ability to work from a home-based office while prioritizing assigned tasks and meeting multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate files, records, and documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to problem-solve and provide support to employees and managers

Preferred Experience:
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Exposure to HR projects, process improvements, or policy implementation
- Professional certifications or coursework in HR a plus
