Engineering

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who can drive this mission forward by pairing strong execution with strong product intuition. In this role, you'll guide a team working across integrations, APIs, and developer experience. You'll help define not only what we build, but how we approach these problems — balancing high-impact, targeted partner integrations with long-term platform investments that make it easier for any partner to build with 1Password.

As we expand into more headless and AI-driven use cases, you'll help shape how 1Password becomes part of automated workflows, agents, and emerging app ecosystems. This is an opportunity to define the patterns and capabilities that will power the next generation of secure, programmatic access to 1Password.

You'll work closely with Product, Design, and external partners, guiding projects from concept through delivery, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and keeping everyone focused on customer outcomes. This is a highly collaborative, visible role where your leadership will directly influence how customers, developers, and partners experience 1Password — and how our ecosystem evolves for years to come.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, delivering measurable results at scale.
  • Strong technical background and ability to guide architecture, technical direction, and decisions.
  • Track record of delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects on time.
  • Ability to recruit, hire, and retain exceptional engineering talent.
  • Ability to create and maintain an inclusive, high-performing, and engaged team environment.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make decisions quickly, and take accountability for outcomes.
  • Experience managing remote, distributed teams effectively.

What you can expect:

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of engineers, focusing on performance management, coaching, career growth, and creating a high-performing, inclusive team environment.
  • Define and drive clear, outcome-oriented strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure teams ship high-quality work at a healthy, sustainable pace.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of technical excellence and operational maturity.
  • Collaborate across functions and teams to define priorities, scope, and success criteria.
  • Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and follow through on commitments.
  • Refine team structure, processes, and practices to support growth and evolving needs.
