GitHub is looking for a proactive, organized, tech-savvy intern to join our Corporate Communications team for Summer 2026 and help raise awareness of GitHub’s products and services to developers and enterprises across the globe. The Corporate Communications team is creative, collaborative, and highly-motivated. We work cross-functionally with stakeholders from every level of the business to tell compelling stories that showcase GitHub’s innovative approach to AI-powered software development. This role will be responsible for helping run our day-to-day team operations, develop various communications materials, execute communications strategies, and build reports tracking the impact of our work.
This is a remote summer internship for 12 consecutive weeks with start dates between May-June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Help identify storytelling opportunities that support GitHub’s company goals and reach our target audiences
- Assist in the development of content and collateral materials, including prep docs for spokespeople
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for speaking events, community engagement, and more
- Track and evaluate press coverage to measure impact and assist with monthly reporting
- Contribute to project management and cadence of communications projects, programs, events, and/or editorial calendar
- Participate in internal meetings and meetings with external partners like our agencies/vendors
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Currently in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies or related field, with an expected conferral date between December 2026 and August 2027.
- Experience writing effective communications materials for medium-to-large audiences (newsletters, news articles, press releases, etc.).
- Track record of executing on creative ideas, with a “ship to learn” mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Communications internship experience preferred.
- Interest in news and media
- General understanding of GitHub and/or the software development space. (Coding skills not required!)
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn from our experienced and awesome global communications team, while contributing to some big programs and embracing the Hubber experience.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and learn from experiences during the internship.
