Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with prospects to understand their unique business goals, challenges, and needs, and provide tailored Shopify solutions to help them grow.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and target potential customers within the SMB segment.
- Lead outreach efforts through door-knocking, cold calls, and emails to qualify leads and generate interest in Shopify’s offerings.
- Manage a comprehensive sales cycle from initial contact through contract signature, maintaining an accurate pipeline of opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, solution engineering, and customer success, to enhance client engagements and outcomes.
- Stay informed about the latest product features, industry trends, and market dynamics to provide the best possible advice and service to merchants.
- Actively source and build your sales pipeline, demonstrating a proactive approach to forecasting and setting priorities.
Qualifications:
- Proven field AE experience, particularly with face-to-face sales techniques such as cold calling and door-knocking.
- Results-oriented and driven by hunger for success, with the determination to pursue leads and close deals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trusting relationships and effectively conveying the value of Shopify’s offerings.
- Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and engage with multiple stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Experience with POS technology/eCommerce preferred.
- Self-motivated with a consultative and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in New Business Sales & Sales Development
- Experience selling or having in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following industries: Ecommerce, Fintech, Retail, Hospitality
- Previous experience selling POS systems is a plus
- Experience with MEDDICC, BANT, and Challenger sales methodologies is a plus
- Experience managing a specific territory
